Criminal Practice Areas

State Criminal Defense

At the Texas State Criminal Defense level, our Firm handles adult felony and misdemeanor offenses, including, but not limited to:

  • assault (family violence) cases
  • DWI/DUI, drug cases
  • sexual assault
  • child abuse charges
  • weapons charges
  • theft

If you or someone you love is facing a criminal accusation — even if the accusation is completely false — you deserve someone in your corner who will truly fight for you. You need an attorney who will take the time to understand your side of the story, investigate the facts from the very start, and step in early — sometimes even before charges are filed — to protect your future and make sure your voice is heard.

Federal Criminal Defense

Being charged with a federal crime is serious, and federal prosecution follows different rules, guidelines and procedures than state criminal charges. Our firm has extensive experience with federal laws and Federal Criminal Defense and the United States Sentencing Guidelines. We have represented clients on federal charges including, but not limited to:

  • healthcare fraud
  • bank fraud
  • wire fraud
  • securities fraud
  • money laundering
  • drug conspiracy

We have in-depth experience representing clients on cases before they have gone to the grand jury and defending them after charges are filed.

Expunction

Being charged with a criminal offense in Texas has serious, potentially life-long consequences on background checks for housing or employment and other reasons in Texas and other states. Many people who qualify for an Expunction of their charges from the criminal justice system are not aware they can have their criminal record erased. If your criminal charges were dismissed or you were found not guilty, you should consider having your arrest or criminal record cleared so that you can get a fresh start without any criminal record.

Nondisclosure

If you have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime in Texas, your case is public record. The information about your case can found online, is often sold to 3rd parties and can cause you problems for years to come – even after you have completed your sentence. In many instances, once you have successfully completed your probation, the court can order a Nondisclosure so that public agencies cannot share your criminal record for that offense. Not all crimes and cases are eligible for nondisclosure, but if you are granted a nondisclosure by the court, you can legally deny that you were arrested for that offense.

Cutting-Edge Legal Technology

Our Texas statewide criminal defense law firm uses the latest legal technology for a thorough analysis of your case, to prepare your case and present your defense. We leverage technology using cutting edge legal case management software and case presentation software so that we are able to layout the facts of your case and the applicable laws effectively and quickly. We utilize a myriad of technological tools and apps to assist in preparing the best defense possible that relates not only to jurors but also judges. Electronic tools allow us to simplify complicated information and present information to the jurors and judges in ways that are clear and easy to understand.

We believe that client trust is earned through:

Listening

We listen to our client’s problems, concerns and questions.

Educating

We educate our clients about their case facts and have honest in-depth conversations with our clients.

Solving

We design a strategy to resolve each case the best way possible whether that is going to trial, entering a plea, or seeking an alternative resolution.

The common themes throughout this philosophy is spending time with you and your case and communicating with you in a way that gives you confidence that we are on your side and working for you!
